Aultmore

Speyside (Deveron) founded in 1896 - first Society bottling in 1989

This distillery was built by Alexander Edward (of Benrinnes fame) in a district famous for its illicit stills on account of its remoteness, and the water of the Foggie Moss. Its name is Gaelic for the "Big Burn". Sold to Dewar's in 1923 and extended in the 1970s, it is considered Top Dressing by blenders, and is bottled only in small amounts by John Dewar & Sons (Bacardi).
