Tomatin

Speyside (Findhorn) founded 1897 - first Society bottling 1983

Originally built in 1897, extended three times during the 1950s and 60s and doubled in capacity in 1974, this is the largest distillery in Scotland. It is potentially able to produce 12 million litres of pure alcohol per annum from twenty-three stills, although less than a third are currently in operation. The site, off the A9, was once that of a well-known illicit still. Its product is mainly sold in export markets.
