Speyside (Lossie) founded 1898 - first Society bottling 1983This Elgin distillery “adjacent to No. 7“ has had a patchy career. It was closed two years after it opened and remained so until 1965, when it was rebuilt by its owners, The Glenlivet Distillers Ltd. Until 1995, its make was uncommon as a single, because it produced key fillings for Chivas Regal. The distillery retains its floor maltings, though these are not in use, and its malt is rated "First Class" by blenders. It was purchased by P R Brands in 2004.
