The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains our data processing practices and your options regarding
the ways in which your personal data is used. If you have any requests concerning your
personal information or any queries with regard to our processing please contact

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society collects the details provided when you place your online order, together with information we learn about you from your use of the Society, its website and its services. We also collect information about the transactions you undertake including details of payment cards used.

We may collect additional information in connection with your participation in any promotions or competitions offered by us and information you provide when giving us feedback. We also monitor customer traffic patterns and site use which enables us to improve the service we provide.

So that we can monitor the popularity of our websites, understand what pages visitors are looking at and how often visitors come to our site, and identify the source of new business, we collect data in web access logs and via cookies. This data is entirely anonymous, and doesn't identify individual users. This means that there is no reasonable way for us to identify the individual person this data was collected from.

Use of your information and your preferences

We will use your information to provide and personalise our service. We will also use your contact details to communicate with you. We may use your information to send you offers and news about the Society, its products and services. We may contact you by post, email, telephone or fax for these purposes.

Please note the Society will never pass your personal data to anyone else, except for any successors in title to our business and suppliers that process data on our behalf both in the UK and abroad. We may also use and disclose information in aggregate (so that no individual customers are identified) for marketing and strategic development purposes.

If you access other sites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.

These Product Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland and any disputes will be decided only by Scottish Courts.

If any of these Product Terms is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Product Terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
