APRIL AT 28 QUEEN STREET
April....As with the weather things at Queen Street are ever changing and you should prepare for the unexpected. Due to a delay in the arrival of our table tops, the planned change to the menu in the venue was pushed back until the end of the month. It looks like the 24th April is the day this will happen. See below for other changes to the Dining Room. Also below are the details of a fantastic Late Spring list now available at the venue. We have some great tasting events and dinner coming up so check out the details with one or two changes in dates for you to consider. The days are getting longer, so what better reason than to come to Queen Street and enjoy a few drams with some like-minded people.

EVENTS AT 28 QUEEN STREET
New List Tasting
Mon 12th May 2008
A new List is out with a lot of great new single cask, cask strength malt whiskies. This is the ideal opportunity to taste something you don’t normally buy or simply to ‘try before you buy’. We have all the bottles from the new List so can guide you through them helping you choose which five malts will suit your palate best. We also serve a tasty supper so you can take your time and enjoy whichever drams you fancy.
New Members’ Tasting
Mon 26th May 2008
If you have joined the Society, but are not really sure what to do and where to start, this is the ideal night for you. We tell you what you can do with your little green card, explain the coloured ribbons on the bottles and why all the bottles look the same. But most importantly we recommend how to drink Society whisky so that you will enjoy it most. A tour of the whisky regions, five drams and a scrumptious supper.
‘Mini’ Tasting –‘Food and Whisky Matching’
Mon 2nd June 2008
Always wanted to attend one of our tastings but felt daunted by the five cask strength drams? Then this is the tasting for you. We serve three Society drams with a delicious two course supper of main dish and dessert. The theme for this ‘Mini’ Tasting is ‘Food and Whisky Matching’. We select the ideal whiskies to accompany the dinner we serve and give some handy hints on how to use whisky in cooking.
Wood Finish Tasting
Mon 16th June 2008
From the minute the new make spirit enters the cask it starts to react with the wood surrounding it. Many types of oak are used by the different distilleries and, at the Society, we are fortunate to have a great selection of single cask, cask strength malts finished in these different types of wood. Tonight we look at the way wood affects the whisky by comparing same distillery whisky from different wood casks. We also look at the industry trends, but most of all you enjoy sampling our Society malts. A delicious supper is served.
Traditional Whisky Dinner
Tue 24th June 2008
We are going back to our roots as we serve five courses all prepared or served with Society single cask, cask strength malt. Throughout his many years with the Society, James Freeman, our head chef, has become highly skilled in developing dishes using his food and our extraordinary single malts. He prepares some of his finest for this occasion and our whisky taster talks you through the malts that were used. A must-attend event for the true whisky and food lover.
Entertain Society-style with your own private dinner party and tasting. The Society is an inspiring backdrop for your meeting or gathering.
