22.28 Exotic tales of summer
Cask No. 22.28
Lovely beads ringed the glass. The nose told us tales of summer – bright, fresh, airy vistas of green apple, whitemelon, cranberry and flowers, but also the deep, sunny, warm, earthy aromas of vanilla, straw, oats and honey-nut cornflakes. The palate was even more impressive – sweet and juicy (Haribo gummi bears and liquorice wheels with light perfumed lychee). Water opened up the nose nicely – exotic citrus and gooseberry pie with the fragrance of a flower shop. Lemon and a hint of pepper on the reduced palate made it extremely easy.
Drinking tip: Whenever the sun is over the yard arm or in place of champagne
