‘Mouth-nummmb-ing’ Twitter Tasting at
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is holding its first ever Twitter Tasting this week, to be hosted at all three UK venues.
With members worldwide, the Society expects strong interest in the event, with tweets anticipated from thousands of global whisky enthusiasts.
Whisky aroma will be winging its way across cyberspace on Wednesday, 30 September at 7.00 pm, with participants tasting four single cask, single malts in all: Highland Island, 4.131 An Artists’ Retreat; Speyside Spey, 37.41 Mouth-nummmb-ing, another Highland Island, 121.30 Crispy aromatic duck and Waldorf salad and Islay 10.68 Blackpool rock in an ashtray.
To host the evening a specially selected tasting panel will be tweeting at each of the Society Members’ Rooms - Queen Street and The Vaults in Edinburgh, and The Society’s Greville Street London venue.
Members in the UK and around the world have been invited to order the selected whiskies through the ‘First Fridays’ preview email list so they can join in on the night. Around 20 new casks are offered to members on the First Friday of every month, providing an ever-changing selection of whiskies to discover.
The Society bottles single casks from a range of 126 malt whisky distilleries. Only the very best single cask, single malt whisky is selected, having been approved by the Society’s Tasting Panel.
